When Greater Manchester Combined Authority unveiled its £1 billion Good Growth Fund - a major investment programme supporting more than 30 projects across the city region - the challenge wasn’t just the announcement itself. It was explaining a complex, multi-layered investment pipeline in a way that residents could easily understand and connect with. The ambition was big, so the explanation needed to be clear and engaging.

We worked with GMCA to create a purpose-built animation that visually brought the Good Growth Fund to life. The goal was to take what could have been a dense, technical announcement and transform it into a story that felt approachable, inclusive and easy to follow for anyone.

The animation breaks down the pipeline of projects supported by the Fund, using simple visual language and engaging motion to explain how the investment works, what kinds of places and people it will touch, and the positive impact expected across Greater Manchester. By combining clean graphic design with thoughtful pacing and narrative structure, the film brings clarity to a big idea without losing sight of the human and community impact at its heart. Viewers are guided through the Fund’s purpose, how the investment flows through different activity types, and how this translates into real benefits for residents, from jobs and infrastructure to community spaces and economic opportunities.

By simplifying the message without diluting its scale, the animation helped GMCA share a complex strategy in a way that felt accessible, engaging and inclusive. It supported the public announcement with a piece of content that could be used across digital channels, social platforms and community communications, ensuring that the story behind the Good Growth Fund was as compelling and understandable as the investment itself.
