When Kukri approached us to create a mini documentary featuring their ambassador, nine-time Paralympic champion Hannah Cockroft, the goal was clear: to tell a story that went beyond sportswear, one that captured the human experience behind elite performance and the shared values between the athlete and the brand.

Hannah is one of Britain’s most successful para-athletes, a world record holder, and a figure whose journey resonates far beyond the track. Our challenge was to bring her story to life in a way that felt authentic, cinematic, and inspiring, while also highlighting Kukri’s role as a brand committed to supporting and celebrating athletes of all abilities.

From the outset, we focused on capturing real moments rather than staging content. We spent time with Hannah during her training sessions, recording the intensity, focus, and discipline that underpin her achievements. Alongside these sequences, we filmed candid, reflective interviews where she spoke openly about her motivations, her journey, and what it means to represent Kukri. These insights gave the documentary its emotional core, ensuring the narrative felt personal rather than promotional.

Visually, the project blended cinematic observation with intimate storytelling. Training sessions were captured in motion, with careful attention to framing, light, and pace, while quieter moments allowed Hannah’s personality and ethos to take centre stage. Throughout, the film subtly reinforced Kukri’s involvement, showing that the brand was not just a supplier of kit but a partner invested in the journeys of the athletes it supports.

The documentary highlights Hannah’s resilience and determination while placing her achievements within the broader context of inclusivity in sport.
