Shining A Light On Suicide

A series of films made with Glorious Creative for their suicide awareness campaign

TESTIMONIAL
Working with doodledo on this campaign helped immensely. This was important to get right and the team took the time to ensure we treated people well as we got these incredibly powerful interviews.

The full story

We worked in collaboration with Glorious Creative to develop this campaign for the Greater Manchester Health and Social Care Partnership, whose aim was to raise awareness of the widespread impact of suicide within Greater Manchester. Glorious provided the core concept, alongside branding, logo, and typography materials, and we were tasked with shooting a promo video in line with the message.

Obviously, this was a sensitive project, so we felt it was paramount to focus the messaging  on telling the real stories of people whose lives have been affected by suicide. With this in mind, we expanded on the brief to create a suite of films comprising interviews, stories, as well as striking shots around Manchester projecting statistics and facts onto walls in public spaces, as part of the wider awareness campaign of Shining A Light On Suicide. With real people at the centre of the project, our role was to facilitate a safe space for them to tell their stories, and for us to deliver these stories in a way that preserved their authenticity and magnitude.

It was an privilege to help Glorious execute their vision, and reflect the power of the campaign, joining and boosting the wider conversation around suicide and mental health. So it was incredibly gratifying to learn that the Shining A Light On Suicide campaign ended up being our client (the GMHSEP)’s most successful campaign for the budget it was made on, as well as being awarded several accolades for its impact.

We’re really proud to have been a part of this, delivering the messaging and most importantly, the stories of the people affected.
